Mypaint fechando sozinho no debian buster

Eu to usando debian buster desde o começo do ano passado e até hoje eu tenho esse problema com o mypaint, alguém poderia dar uma luz de como resolver? Toda vez que uso ele depois de alguns minutos ou as vezes até de alguns segundos ele fecha sozinho, e quando abro ele sem carregar nenhum arquivo ele não abre nem se quer a janela de recuperação de arquivos mais, eu tive que instalar o debian jessie num outro hd pra eu poder continuar desenhando, pois a versão do mypaint do jessie foi a ultima que funcionou bem aqui, só que ela é muito ultrapassada e não é boa como a atual, eu quero poder usar no buster e não precisar ter que ir pro jessie toda vez. A versão que to usando é a 1.2.0+gitexport.f62444e que vem por padrão nos repositórios, eu instalei a 2.0.0+git.af5225a.dirty via flatpak só que essa é pior ainda, ela não carrega os icones de ferramentas na parte superior da tela e fecha o programa se eu clico em algum deles, ta impossível desenhar no mypaint aqui.
