Bem, obrigado a quem se interessar a ajudar.
Tenho uma maquina (on board), que fica somente com a resolucao de tela 800 x 600, dai lendo o google da vida, descobri q deveria alterar o arquivo xorg.conf, porem nao obtive resultado.
(o monitor eh IBM - G42 )
