Problemas na instalação de Minecraft

Bom dia!

Possuo 2 computadores, sendo 1 notebook que comprei tem alguns meses (voltado para jogos) e um desktop um pouco mais antigo (tem uns 5, 6 anos).
A instalação no notebook ocorreu normalmente (seguindo as dicas no seguinte post: http://www.edivaldobrito.com.br/como-instalar-o-minecraft-no-linux/), porém a instalação no desktop após realizar os passos no post acima, abro o launcher mas não consigo efetuar o download do game no mesmo, retorna a seguinte mensagem:

Alguém saberia me dizer o motivo da não instalação do restante do game?

Pelo que pude entender, o problema parece estar nesse trecho:

Como resolver?
Ou nem seria mais possível devido o desktop ser bem ultrapassado (rodo debian 9 no mesmo)

Cara, instale o Open JDK ou o Oracle Java (tanto faz), baixe o Minecraft do seu site oficial, depois de baixar clique com o botão direito do mouse em cima do minecraft, vá em propriedades, marque a opção "permitir a execução desse arquivo como programa" e depois abra com o Openjdk ou o Oracle Java.

Não instale esse minecraft launcher, é uma gambiarra que pode causar problemas.

Não sei se pode te ajudar, mas no meu caso eu instalei as versões do java disponível na central de programas e depois baixei o game pelo site da desenvolvedora. Pedi para abrir o game com o java mais recente e funcionou numa boa.
