Problemas ao tentar atualizar programas no Ubuntu 12.10

Estou tendo problemas ao procurar atualizações nos programas instalados no meu Ubuntu 12.10.
Quando eu vou no "Atualizador de programas" ele carrega por alguns minutos, mas logo em seguida, ele dá o seguinte erro:

Ubuntu 12.10 já está sem suporte desde 2014
Faça BKP seus arquivos e depois faça instalação limpa do Ubuntu 16.04 que terá suporte até abril 2021

Como o Clodoaldo disse, o Ubuntu 12.10 está fora de catálogo faz tempo já.
Baixe e instale o Ubuntu 16.04, a última versão LTS e que terá suporte até 2.021.
