Já chega! Pesso pinico, passei hoje das 9 da manhã as 18 tentanto compartilhar minha impressora HP que está instalada em uma máquina rodando openSUSE11.0, com as estações da rede rodando ubuntu 8.04. Antes de meter a cara pesquisei bastante as maneiras de se compartilhar impressoras no linux.
Primeiro eu a instalei no servidor com o HPLIP de pois fui editar o etc/cups/cupsd.conf e deixa-lo da seguinte maneira:

Listen 631
Browsing On
BrowseAllow All
BrowseInterval 30
BrowseAddress @LOCAL

A impressora está a operar perfeitamente no servidor, porém quando vou nas estações e abro algum programa (OpenOffice por exemplo) ele até mostra a impressora mas quando mando imprimir não sai nada na impressora. O servidor está imprimindo normalmente.
Quando vou em Gerenciamento>Impressão o aplicativo chega a travar as vezes.
O que pode está dando errado?
Esqueci alguma coisa?
depois que não deu certo restaurei o backup e o cupsd.conf do servidor SUSE 11 ficou como era antes assim:
