Pesquisei em alguns sites e vi essa opção de erro (PPA) sendo a mais provável, porem quando tentava fazer alguns comandos nada funcionou. Será que é necessário fazer uma nova instalação?

    Ubuntu-14. 10 já está sem suporte desde julho-2015
    Faça bkp seus arquivos
    Instale ubuntu-14.04-lts que terá suporte até abril-2019
