Olá amigos, sou iniciante em linux e estou com um problema, antes de citá-lo gostaria de falar que já reinstalei o Xubuntu e mesmo assim continuou o problema. Quando eu usava windows o problema não ocorria.

Tenho um netbook, e na primeira vez que ligo ele, parece que quando o computador está "frio" ele reinicia logo que eu abro algum aplicativo, isso acontece umas 2 vezes antes do sistema estabilizar. E as vezes também ele não reinicia, mas simplesmente congela tudo, e para ele descongelar só desligando e ligando novamente.

Não sei se tem a ver, mas tentei instalar algumas distribuições como o linux mint(todas por pen drive), e tive o erro da interface gráfica(server error) na hora de iniciar o sistema.

se ocorre con todos os Sistemas Operacionais do micro, é problema de hardware. Par verificar, faça boot com um Live CD Linux, e depois com um disco de instalação windows, e não mexa.. só deixe na tela,

ligado, umas 2 ou 3 horas, sem clicar, nem usar. Se resetar ou congelar sozínho, é o hardware. Verifique faltas de contacto nos pentes de memória.

se só ocorre com Kubuntu,pode ser várias coisas: pode ser driver de vídeo (tente re-instalar achar outro driver), erros do sistema de arquivos (rode fsck em modo live cd) ou ainda pacotes relacionados à camada de hardware; DBUS, UDEV, EVDEV, HAL ou systemd.

Outra causa disso, gerenciamento de energia, veja se tem opções de resetar ativadas e as desative se houver, e tente desligar as hibernações,congelar etc....

Concordo com o albfneto! Isso é problema de hardware.
já instalei Xubuntu e LM-MATE num netbook Asus c/ 1gb/ram e "rodaram na boa".
Não querendo ser chato, mas já sendo, netbook "sim-positivo" sempre tem problema de hardware mais precocemente que netbooks de outras marcas (acer/asus/samsung)

eu usava o windows e o problema não acontecia, e também quando eu reinstalei o sistema Xubuntu, o problema parou de acontecer, aí depois de um tempo começou a acontecer de novo. E por exemplo, se eu iniciar o sistema, acontecer o problema, eu reinicio, deixo ele até 2 dias ligado se precisar, e não ocorre nada. É somente quando eu ligo pela primeira vez no "dia".

Quando isso ocorrer novamente dê uma olhada nos logs:
- /var/log/messages
- /var/log/kernel.log
- /var/log/syslog.log
Quem sabe não encontramos o problema.
