E aí pessoal...
Sou novo como usuário linux e adotei a versão do UBUNTU com o kernel 2.6.20-15-generic

Fui tentar instalar o pacote do MPlayer e quando rodei o ./configure surgiu as seguintes mensagens...

alguém pode me ajudar??? Outra coisa, quando eu tento instalar outros pacotes, o mesmo comando fala que o compilador C não conseguiu criar executáveis.... valew!!!!

cara tenta apt-get install mplyaer !! para vc instalar na mão grande vc precisa de um compilador no caso o gcc! apt-get install gcc . melhor vc instalr tudo o que vc quer via apt caso n consiga via apt vc baixa o pacote que vc quer e compila! vc quer instalar o amsn a vc digita apt-get install amsn sempre apt-get install + o que vc quer.

Olá whitemaster,

estou com o mesmo problema. Pesquisei bastante na internet e não obtive resposta ainda. Inscrevi-me na mailing list do mplayer e assim que obtiver uma resposta eu posto aqui.

Calaff2, o cara já possui o gcc instalado e versão suportada pelo mplayer:
amaury@lilith:~/Desktop/Instalacoes_Linux/MPlayer/MPlayer-1.0pre8$ ./configure

quanto a instalar via apt-get, realmente se tem menos trabalho, mas não se instala a última versão do Mplayer. A ultima versão é a do site e é a versão 1.0-rc01

instala o pacote libc6-dev
distribuições baseadas no debian :
apt-get install libc6-dev
