sendo assim o procedimento que tinha dito funciona, porém os repos para o medibuntu seriam esses:

Seu sistema é baseado no Ubuntu 9.10.

Tente executar o comando abaixo:

sudo wget --output-document=/etc/apt/sources.list.d/medibuntu.list http://www.medibuntu.org/sources.list.d/$(lsb_release -cs).list && sudo apt-get --quiet update && sudo apt-get --yes --quiet --allow-unauthenticated install medibuntu-keyring && sudo apt-get --quiet update

Execute:

sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list

Cole esta linha no final do arquivo:

deb http://packages.medibuntu.org/ karmic free non-free

Depois execute:

sudo apt-key adv --keyserver keyserver.ubuntu.com --recv-keys OC5A2783

Depois:

sudo apt-get update

O sistema dele é baseado no Ubuntu Karmic.

Eu apenas quis fazer mais uma tentativa...

Já corrigi o erro no repositório (foi mal...).

Esse negocio do SMplayer , eu nao vou poder ver filmes com o reprodutor de videos padrão que ja vem ?

Mas vai ter mais um reprodutor de tudo: filmes, músicas, DVD, CD etc.

Se não conseguir reproduzir uma coisa com um, vai conseguir com o outro.

Se preferir, instale apenas os codecs:

sudo apt-get install w32codecs libavcodec-extra-52

Conseguiu adicionar o repositório medibuntu?
